Mind Your Mind
You’ve heard the expression – “mind over matter”. ? The idea is that the mind is more powerful than the body; that our thinking process creates our experience at any moment in time. ?There are famous quotations like Henry Ford’s ; If you think you can do a thing, or you think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.’ that speak to this notion of the power of your mind.
Whether or not you believe this to be true, you have to admit that our minds are pretty amazing…and that we can go places in our mind, using our imagination and using visualization, that can change how we feel and what we notice in the world around us (and within us).
Have you noticed that you can be ‘stuck’ in a difficult situation at work, and when you take a few minutes to start thinking of something more enjoyable, you start to feel better, more calm and less stressed about your position at the time?
I just watched this wonderful video – take a few minutes of your time to view it. ?It reminded me to be grateful for my mind – in all it’s complexity – that is at work every second of every day. ?It reminded me to be mindful of what’s going on in my mind. ?Are the thoughts I am thinking, thoughts that serve me? ?If I reframed that difficult situation, might I notice new answers that I had not been able to see before? Are my expectations affecting my experience of happiness and joy in this moment?
After you watch, let me know … what do you notice when you mind your mind?

Thank you so much for sharing this incredible video. I was exhausted from my baby having colic for much of the day, but after watching this, I looked into his little face and simply felt energized with sheer gratitude that he exists.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful comment, Stefanie! I remember the exhaustion — and what a wonderful reframe you have done – for you and for him!!
Hope you fully enjoy your entire time with him … and your whole family. It flies by!
