Two years ago, in Costa Rica, I stood on the beach looking into the waves of the ocean dreadfully afraid, and yearning to ride the surf on a boogie board. It looked like sooo much fun, and I was afraid. One of my mentors in life, was there, helping me. He said, as I stood steadfast in the crashing waves, turn sideways a bit, do not take the force of the wave full on.. and I did, and the wave washed sofly passed me, swirling in bubbles at my legs, massaging..not harshly taking my feet out from underneath me as before. The bubbles were cool and soft and comforting. I changed my energy toward that wave, I did not challenge it head on, I let it wash over me, not fighting it, and it was calming and comforting. And I smiled and jumped the next wave on the boogie board and giggled with glee.
